Skip Tracing/Missing Person

Online enquiries conducted to locate someone such as a missing person, debtor, or witness. Skip Tracing includes, but is not limited to, the use of enquiries on social media, property and residential records, reverse telephone lookups, and postcode searches.

Insurance

Investigation of CTP and general insurance claims to evaluate the legitimacy of those claims and to minimise the prevalence of false or inflated claims. Fraudulent claims may include exaggerated claims, staged accidents, or provision of false or misleading information.

Worker’s Compensation

Factual investigation into circumstances of a worker’s injury involving interview with the worker, employer or witnesses and inspection of the incident location. Factual investigations are used to determine if a worker meets the legislative definition of a worker, where issues surrounding the injury are unclear or disputed and to identify potential for recovery from a third party.

Work Injury Damages

Investigation of claims of negligence against an employer for a work-related injury to a worker. In NSW, the workers compensation legislation enables an eligible injured worker to sue for common law or work injury damages. The worker’s injury must have resulted from the employer’s negligence or other tort (wrongful act) and satisfy a permanent impairment threshold of at least 15% whole person impairment.

Public Liability

Investigation of civil wrongs where the injured party sues the owner/occupier under common law based on negligence and/or damages. Some examples of public liability claims include injuries, property damage, defective products. Some examples of incident include injuries resulting from an uneven footpath or driveway or steps, injuries due to slipping, tripping or falling within a store or business or public grounds, or dog attacks.

Reportable Incidents in Aged Care and Disability Industries

Reportable Conduct – OCG Reportable Conduct Scheme

Reportable Conduct Incidents – investigation into allegations that an employee has engaged in reportable conduct categories as defined by the Children’s Guardian Act 2019 , including sexual offence, sexual misconduct, ill-treatment of a child, neglect of a child, assault against a child, offence under S43B (failure to protect) or S316A (failure to report) of the Crimes Act 1900, and behaviour that causes significant emotional or psychological harm to a child.
